WHITE CENTER, Wash. — With the future of federal SNAP benefits still uncertain amid the ongoing government shutdown, families across the region are struggling to keep food on the table. But in White Center, a surge of community generosity is helping fill the gap.
“We’ve seen an outpouring of support as well, which has touched all of our hearts,” said Carmen Smith, executive director of the White Center Food Bank.
