The Cascade mountains received early snowfall, bringing excitement to Washington’s ski resorts eyeing a winter season boosted by La Niña conditions.
SNOQUALMIE PASS, Wash. — The first major snowfall of the season blanketed Washington’s Cascade mountains over the weekend, slowing drivers but energizing ski resorts that are now eyeing an early start to winter.
At the Summit at Snoqualmie, about 5 to 6 inches of heavy, wet snow fell at the base. It was one of the earliest snowfalls the resort has seen in the past decade.
