The state Supreme Court said the ban on high-capacity magazines was constitutional.
SEATTLE — The Washington State Supreme Court ruled Thursday to uphold a state law that bans high-capacity magazines.
In a 7-2 decision, which reversed a lower court’s ruling, the state Supreme Court sided with the state in a lawsuit filed by Gator’s Custom Guns, a gun shop in Kelso.
At issue was a 2022 state law that banned the sale, manufacture and import of ammunition magazines that held more than 10 rounds. The gun shop argued that the ban was unconstitutional and infringed on the Second Amendment.
