PORTLAND, Ore. — Washington state Senate Republican Leader John Braun announced Tuesday that he will run for Congress in 2026, challenging U.S. Rep. Marie Gluesenkamp Perez in the 3rd Congressional District.
Braun, a U.S. Navy veteran and business owner, has served in the state Senate since 2013 and was elected Republican leader in 2020.
In his announcement, Braun said his priorities, if elected, would be securing the border and maintaining a strong national defense.
