PIERCE COUNTY, Wash. — While it’s unlikely Washington Task Force One will be deployed to flood-ravaged parts of Texas, the Pierce County-based search and rescue team remains on guard as the death toll from July 4th weekend flooding continues to climb.

The devastating floods have killed more than 100 people, including dozens of children, with many victims from Camp Mystic, an all-girls summer camp along the Guadalupe River.
