Victim airlifted to hospital after being struck by suspect fleeing Tumwater police

The suspect was driving a stolen vehicle and left one of the victims with “critical injuries,” police said.

TUMWATER, Wash. — A person was airlifted to a Seattle hospital Friday after their vehicle was struck by a suspected DUI suspect who was fleeing Tumwater police.

Tumwater police said they located an 18-year-old man who had a felony warrant and a “caution endorsement” asleep in his vehicle in a parking lot off New Market Street. Despite deploying a “pursuit intervention device,” the suspect woke up and drove off when contacted by officers.
