Small business owners are working to rebuild after a tree collapse at a Halloween event destroyed their equipment and claimed one life.
ROY, Wash. — Aaron Beadle has spent more than 50 hours trying to salvage his hot dog cart after a tree collapsed at a Halloween event three weeks ago, killing one person and leaving several small business owners counting their losses.
The tree fell October 25 at McKenna Park near Roy, crushing vendor tents and equipment. Nathaniel Heatherly, 31, died at the scene. Six others were injured, three seriously, according to the Pierce County Sheriff’s Office.
