FEDERAL WAY, Wash. — A powerful vehicle explosion jolted residents awake early Friday morning in Federal Way, prompting a bomb squad investigation. Police said the blast does not appear to be accidental.
No one was hurt.
The explosion occurred around 3 a.m. near Steel Lake on South 308th Street, where a parked truck erupted, sending glass and debris across the neighborhood.
“It shook the house,” said Rochelle D. Tate, who lives nearby. “About 2:30 or quarter to three, we heard a big boom.”
