OAK HARBOR, Wash. — Oak Harbor police are investigating a series of vandalism incidents in which U.S. flags were stolen from city properties.
According to authorities, suspects cut flagpole lines and removed flags from four locations — City Hall, Windjammer Park, Beeksma Park and Flintstone Park — during late evening hours. While replacement flags are on hand, repairs to the damaged lines are expected to take longer.
City staff and police are working to restore the affected flagpoles as investigators review security camera footage.
