Thousands of Washington grocery workers are voting on a strike, potentially affecting summer shopping as labor talks stall over wages and schedules.
WASHINGTON, USA — Washington grocery shoppers may face disruptions this summer as thousands of store workers vote on whether to authorize a strike against grocery giants Kroger and Albertsons.
More than 30,000 employees from stores including QFC, Fred Meyer, Safeway and Albertsons are casting ballots this week in a union vote organized by United Food and Commercial Workers Local 3000. The vote follows stalled contract negotiations with the companies.
