Two Kroger-owned grocery stores in western Washington set to close

Another Kroger-owned grocery store also announced an impending closure in Mill Creek.

TACOMA, Wash. — Another grocery store is set to close in western Washington.

Kroger, which owns Fred Meyer and QFC, told KING 5 Wednesday that the Fred Meyer location on Pacific Avenue in Tacoma has closed.

“Unfortunately, we have made the difficult decision to close the Tacoma Pacific Fred Meyer store. While we are leaving this location, we will offer each impacted associate the opportunity to transfer to a new location. This closure is part of a larger company-wide decision to run more efficiently and ensure the long-term health of our business,”
