Two guns recovered after White Center high school goes into lockdown

Three people have been detained, King County Sheriff’s deputies say.

SEATTLE — Two handguns have been recovered and three people have been detained after King County deputies responded to reports of a person with weapons on campus at Evergreen Senior High School in White Center.

The school was put into lockdown around 9 a.m. Wednesday as King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) deputies responded and searched the school.

KCSO says the three people detained are believed to all be juveniles. No injuries have been reported. A large response was observed by the KING 5 crew that arrived on scene, with over a dozen law enforcement
