Two Ellensburg students were detained after police said a planned school shooting was stopped before it could happen.
ELLENSBURG, Wash. — Two Morgan Middle School students were taken into custody after an investigation into a reported threat of school violence, according to the Ellensburg Police Department.
Police said two students reported concerns to school officials, which led to an investigation by the department’s school resource officer (SRO).
The SRO determined the two eighth-graders were planning a school shooting and the school district removed the girls from the school out of caution, police said.
