Trump-era cuts drive food bank to GoFundMe, door-to-door pleas as demand surges

Concern For Neighbors in Mountlake Terrace is making moves it hasn’t had to in its 54-year history.

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE, Wash. — The line of cars at Concern For Neighbors Food Bank stretches out of the parking lot and down the street, with some vehicles carrying multiple families. It’s a grim symbol of what staff say is a deepening crisis made worse by recent federal cuts.

“I’m scared of getting to the point where we don’t have enough food to give to the people in that line,” said Executive Director Carla Brown.
