Transit agencies focused on completing major projects ahead of 2026 FIFA World Cup

Seattle agencies are coordinating transit plans to manage the expected influx of fans for next year’s World Cup matches.

SEATTLE — Since FIFA announced World Cup matches in Seattle, local transportation agencies have been coordinating to prepare to handle the influx of fans.

“The All-Star game was great. This is going to be on a level 3, 4, 10 times higher,” said Al Sanders, King County Metro public information officer. “The Swifties and our Queen Bey folks that came down, it’s going to be larger than that.”
