Trailblazing Kraken announcer recognized in NHL mobile museum

SEATTLE — Kraken fans got to check out the NHL’s United by Hockey Mobile Museum on Saturday which has been traveling to various NHL cities celebrating the league’s trailblazers.

One of those trailblazers is Seattle Kraken’s own Everett Fitzhugh, who became the NHL’s first-ever Black play-by-play announcer.

“That is awesome to be on the wall man, again I never ever thought I would ever find myself in this position,” said Fitzhugh. 

The humble Fitzhugh reflected on how far he’s come.
