Thousands still without power across Pierce, Thurston counties

As of Monday night, Puget Sound Energy still had more than 4,000 customers without power as a result of Saturday’s storms.

BONNEY LAKE, Wash. — Thousands of residents across Pierce and Thurston counties remained without power Monday evening, days after powerful weekend storms swept through western Washington.

“I don’t know when it’s going to be back for sure, we don’t know,” said Moses Matovu, who was without power Monday afternoon in Bonney Lake.

In the area near Rhodes Lake Road, the hum of generators could be heard throughout the neighborhood as power had been out since Saturday evening.
