People who break into cars to save babies or pets will be protected from civil lawsuits, provided they take certain steps first.
OLYMPIA, Wash. — A bill signed into Washington law on Wednesday grants people who save pets or babies from hot cars civil immunity. However, some conditions must be met first.
“Overheating cars, as we all know, is an important danger to keep in mind as summer approaches, which it most certainly is,” Gov. Bob Ferguson said at the bill signing. “This legislation literally can save lives.”
