These are the price increases Washington is considering on ferry fares

The state is considering hiking fare prices to meet revenue goals set by the legislature.

SEATTLE — Washington state is looking to increase the price of ferry fares over the next two years, but first, they’re hoping to get the public’s input. 

Through 2027, the Washington state Legislature set a ferry fare revenue target through 2027 of $408.8 million. To accomplish that, the Washington State Transportation Commission is considering multiple changes to ferry ticket prices: 

Increasing both vehicle and passenger fares by an average of 2.5% in October 2025, and again in October 2026. Extend the expiration date on the multi-ride passes to 120 days,
