Teen girl injured in bus stop shooting near Garfield High School in Seattle

The teenage girl was transported to Harborview and is expected to survive, the police chief said.

SEATTLE — A teenage girl was injured on Wednesday in a drive-by shooting while she was at a bus stop in Seattle’s Central District, according to the Seattle Police Department.

Police officers and medics responded to the area of East Jefferson Street and 23rd Avenue in Seattle around 2:45 p.m. on March 13. This location is near Garfield High School, however, officials said the shooting did not take place at the school.
