Teen driving over 100 miles per hour in deadly Kent crash pleads guilty to charges

Authorities said the 17-year-old was driving at a speed of 103 miles per hour at impact, killing a victim in another car.

KENT, Wash. — A 17-year-old who struck and killed a Kent man during a car chase in July pleaded guilty to charges after the case was sent to a juvenile court. 

Atreyu Batts, 17, pleaded guilty June 4 to second-degree murder, felony hit-and-run, possession of a stolen vehicle and three counts of vehicular assault. The juvenile court sentenced Batts to spend at least four years in a juvenile detention center, with the possibility of more time in jail.
