Tacoma community members marched to the school board meeting Thursday to protest staff cuts made due to the district’s $30 million budget shortfall.
TACOMA, Wash. — A couple hundred people in Tacoma gathered Thursday night to march to the Tacoma Public Schools board meeting to call for change.
The parents, teachers, and students at the rally wanted the district to reconsider their recent cuts to school staff. They are frustrated and concerned about the decision to cut staff members in schools.
The district is facing a $30 million budget shortfall, citing underfunding from the state for years.
