Anders Ibsen will be sworn in as Tacoma’s next mayor in January. Ibsen discussed his plans for economic development, public safety, and affordable housing.
TACOMA, Wash. — For the first time since 2018, the city of Tacoma will have a new mayor.
Anders Ibsen won the election after gaining a sizeable lead over his opponent, Tacoma City Councilmember John Hines, in last week’s round of results.
In the past, Ibsen served as both deputy mayor for the city and on the Tacoma City Council.
During his time away from public service, Ibsen was working in real estate as a managing broker.
