Tacoma Interim Police Chief Patti Jackson discusses new role, violent crime, and building trust

Interim Chief Jackson was appointed to the position in February and hopes to stay in it permanently.

TACOMA, Wash. — On Tuesday, Tacoma’s Interim Police Chief Patti Jackson sat down with KING 5 for her first one-on-one interview since being sworn in.

Jackson was appointed to the position in February, after the resignation of former Chief Avery Moore.

“I’m doing this because there’s no better time to step up for leadership,” said Jackson. “The calling said that leadership is needed. I have that skill set to bring.”
