Suspect arrested in shooting death of Mount Tahoma student to be released, prosecutor says

The suspect was arrested Wednesday, but as of Friday, the status of his case was “No Charges Filed-Pending” and he was expected to be released.

TACOMA, Wash. — The Pierce County Prosecutor’s Office on Friday said the person arrested in the death of a 17-year-old Mount Tahoma High School student will be released. 

No charges have been filed in the days following the 20-year-old suspect’s arrest to allow for further investigation, PCPO said. 

Veron Lockett, 17, died after he suffered a fatal gunshot wound on April 20, in the 1700 block of East 41st Street in Tacoma.
