Regulars are urging the Seattle City Council to intervene and extend the bar’s lease, preventing the establishment from losing its longtime home.
SEATTLE — Supporters of the Little Red Hen, a 92-year-old country bar facing eviction, took their campaign to the streets Wednesday with a spontaneous dance party aimed at rallying public support and drawing the attention of city leaders.
The demonstration unfolded in Columbia City, where patrons danced along Rainier Avenue South ahead of a mayoral candidate forum at the Columbia City Theater. Their goal: to save one of Seattle’s longest-running entertainment venues from closure at the end of the month.
