SPS board meeting Wednesday to discuss potential police return to campuses, split lunch backlash

Many parents with opinions on both issues are expected to speak at Wednesday night’s meeting.

SEATTLE — The Seattle Public Schools (SPS) board is expected to vote on a pilot program Wednesday that would bring police officers back to some campuses.

The vote will come as part of a scheduled school board meeting Wednesday. The board is also expected to address and take plenty of public comment on the new split lunch schedule that has drawn criticism from many students, some of whom walked out over the change on Monday.
