The “school-age teenager” became sick and died from flu complications last week, county health officials say.
SNOHOMISH COUNTY, Wash. — A teenager in Snohomish County has died from the flu, becoming Washington state’s first pediatric flu death this season, according to the Snohomish County Health Department.
County health officials said on Jan. 28 that the “school-age teenager” became sick and died from the flu last week.
“Our hearts go out to the family and friends of this youth,” said Health Officer Dr. James Lewis. “It’s a sad reminder of the danger that influenza and other vaccine-preventable diseases pose to our community.”
