SEDRO-WOOLLEY, Wash. — Financial troubles are hitting seniors in Skagit County as senior centers see growing demand but struggle with stagnant funding that could lead to difficult decisions ahead.

For Irene Cowan, lunch time at the Sedro-Woolley senior center represents more than just a meal — it’s about nourishing her spirit and connecting with others.

“It’s just all of us getting together. We have a wonderful time here,” Cowan said.
