Shoe with human remains found on Clallam County beach

The Clallam County Coroner took possession of the shoe and the remains for further forensic examination.

SEQUIM, Wash. — A shoe with human remains inside was found at a Clallam County beach on Tuesday, officials say.

The Clallam County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) says a Sequim resident called 911 just before 8:30 a.m. Tuesday to report finding suspected human remains on the beach at Marly Nelson County Park at Port Williams.

A CCSO deputy confirmed the presence of bones and human tissue inside the shoe, which was found about 50 feet north of the Port Williams Beach boat launch. Authorities say no additional suspicious items
