SEATTLE — Several forms of dance across Latin America, Central America, and South America have gained global popularity and evolution in style.
One dance instructor has been sharing her love of cumbia by teaching as many people as she can in Western Washington.
Adri “La Pollito” Tapia-Gomez teaches cumbia at Union Cultural Center in Seattle and at Mi Centro in Tacoma.
Tapia-Gomez’s main cumbia style comes from Mexico, but says she loves all the Latin American influences on the dance.
