Seattle shows up big for Pete Carroll’s return to Lumen Field

Fans packed Pioneer Square to welcome the former Seahawks head coach back to the city.

SEATTLE — Seattle was buzzing hours before kickoff Thursday night. Fans packed Pioneer Square for the Seahawks’ first preseason game and to welcome back a familiar face.

Pete Carroll returned to Lumen Field for the first time since leaving the Seahawks in January 2024, this time as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders. His presence added extra electricity to a night that was already shaping up to be one of the busiest of the summer.
