Seattle sees first July rain, still faces drought challenges

2025 will likely end up in the top 10 driest Julys on record in Seattle.

SEATTLE — Seattle recorded measurable rain Friday, snapping a 28-day dry streak and knocking the city out of the running to tie the driest July on record.

A total of 0.01 inches of rain was recorded at Seattle-Tacoma International Airport (SEA) after a cloudy, misty start to the day. Tacoma recorded 0.05 inches of rain.

The last time Seattle recorded measurable rain was June 26 when 0.7 inches fell.
