Authorities say the man was possibly armed with an ax, then produced a gun when contacted by Seattle police officers.
SEATTLE — Seattle police shot and killed a man who was reportedly wielding an ax on Thursday afternoon.
Officers were sent to Fifth Avenue South and South Holgate Street around 4:15 p.m. When they arrived, the male was still wielding what Seattle police Chief Shon Barnes described as an “edged-weapon.”
Police said the man may have also been armed with a knife. The King County Sheriff’s Office (KCSO) said the man, at some point, produced a gun.
