Seattle police deploy flashbangs during downtown protest

The anti-ICE demonstration began earlier in the day at Cal Anderson Park on Capitol Hill. Officials advised drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.

SEATTLE — Seattle police deployed flashbangs and detained at least one person at 3rd Avenue and Marion Street on Wednesday evening after a firework was thrown at officers during an anti-ICE demonstration, according to KING 5 reporters at the scene.

Police issued a dispersal order around 10:20 p.m., directing the crowd near the Henry M. Jackson Federal Building to move south and west, the Seattle Police Department said. Officers enforcing the order were targeted with thrown cement and rocks.
