Harrell is seeking to end federal oversight of the police after reforming crowd management policies.
SEATTLE — Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell is asking the Department of Justice to end federal oversight of the city’s police department more than a decade after a consent decree was put in place.
Harrell filed for federal court approval Tuesday of the Seattle Police Department’s revised crowd management policies, which received city council approval in February.
