Seattle cracks down on after-hours parties at Magnuson, Gas Works parks

Seattle Parks and Recreation has physically blocked access to problem areas.

SEATTLE — The City of Seattle is ramping up enforcement at two popular waterfront parks—Magnuson Park and Gas Works Park—following years of complaints about large, late-night gatherings.

Residents near Magnuson Park have reported increasing concerns over after-hours partying, including loud music, reckless driving in the form of donuts, and public safety issues. The parks officially close at 10 p.m., but neighbors say that hasn’t stopped the activity.
