Seattle-area swimming school urges everyone to follow these water safety precautions

Every year in the U.S., an estimated 4,000 die from unintentional drowning, according to the American Red Cross. That is an average of 11 drowning deaths per day.

SEATTLE — The official start to the summer season is just six days away.

With more chances for stretches of warm weather and boating season underway, it’s more likely Washington state’s waterways will be packed with families trying to stay cool.

There are several safety precautions to consider when swimming or boating, according to the team at British Swim School. The school has nine locations in King and Snohomish counties.
