SEATTLE — A Seattle anesthesiology resident was among hundreds charged Monday in what the U.S. Department of Justice called the “National Health Care Fraud Takedown.”
Andrew Voegel-Podadera, 35, was accused of diverting medications, including fentanyl and hydromorphone, from patients at Seattle Children’s, Harborview Medical Center and the University of Washington Medical Center. Federal prosecutors said Voegel-Podadera used narcotics sometimes while he was working at the hospitals and treating patients, some of whom were children.
