Roughly 20 people potentially exposed to fentanyl at Snohomish County Courthouse

Emergency crews are assessing potential fentanyl exposure at the Snohomish County Courthouse.

EVERETT, Wash. — Emergency crews are responding to the Snohomish County Courthouse after 20 people may have been exposed to fentanyl residue on Thursday.

Authorities say all individuals in the second-floor courtroom are being checked as a precaution, and so far, no one has shown any signs of illness.

A large number of fire personnel are assisting with medical screenings and monitoring to maintain safety at the scene. Everett Fire is coordinating its response with the Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office.
