Roosevelt High School principal put on leave following football recruiting violations

Seattle Public Schools placed the Roosevelt High principal on leave in connection to illegal football recruiting.

SEATTLE — Seattle Public Schools placed Roosevelt High School Principal Tami Brewer on administrative leave Thursday following findings by the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association that the school’s football program violated recruiting rules.

The disciplinary action comes with only days remaining in the school year and follows a WIAA investigation that found Roosevelt “illegally recruited” members of its football team. The Roughriders had achieved a remarkable turnaround, going from a winless 2022 season to reaching the state semifinals in 2023.
