Rite Aid plans to close more stores in Washington

Waves of store closures continue for Rite Aid as the company continues with bankruptcy proceedings. Twenty-one more Washington stores are on the chopping block.

SEATTLE — Waves of expected store closures keep coming for Rite Aid as the company continues with bankruptcy proceedings. New filings show over 300 stores across the U.S. slated to be closed, including another 21 locations in Washington state. 

Rite Aid filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in May, the second bankruptcy filing for the drugstore chain in the last few years. 

The company’s store closing list has steadily grown to nearly 900 locations since then.
