Retail theft emphasis patrol in Gig Harbor leads to 15 arrests, police say

One person attempting to use a counterfeit bill also was arrested.

GIG HARBOR, Wash. — A retail theft emphasis patrol in Gig Harbor led to 15 arrests, police said.

The Gig Harbor Police Department said it worked with loss prevention personnel at “various businesses” around the city on the emphasis patrols on May 1 and 2.

In total, the patrols led to 15 people being arrested and three juveniles being detained and eventually turned over to their parents. Gig Harbor police said one of those arrested was someone who previously had been caught in an emphasis patrol. One person who attempted to use a
