Fire departments across western Washington reported a spike in fires over the Fourth of July, with many believed to be caused by fireworks.
EVERETT, Wash. — Two homes in Everett on 16th Place West caught fire on Friday, causing significant damage, according to South County Fire.
Crews responded to the 12800 block of 16th Place West near Paine Field, where a fire extended to two nearby homes and a nearby tree.

The fire has since been extinguished. No injuries were reported. It was not immediately clear how many residents were displaced.
