According to a new study from SafeWise, a website that reviews home security systems and offers safety tips, Seattle was ranked the fourth worst city in the country for package thefts.
Seattle ranked second on SafeWise’s list in 2018 before dropping to fifth place in 2019. The Emerald City dropped off the list altogether in 2020 before reaching the fourth spot this year.
To come to their conclusions, SafeWise analyzed the data from the FBI’s larceny-theft numbers from across the country. It then compared that information to Google search numbers for terms like “missing package” and “stolen package.” Each criterion was weighted equally and combined to obtain the top
