TACOMA, Wash. — U.S. Rep. Emily Randall is raising new concerns about conditions inside the Northwest ICE Processing Center following her third oversight visit to the Tacoma facility this year.
Randall, a Democrat who represents the district that includes the detention center, toured the site Friday afternoon and said the number of detainees has increased significantly under the Trump administration—from about 700 last November to 1,300 in April and now 1,562. The facility’s capacity is 1,575.
