Rehabilitated eagle rejoins Tacoma’s wild amid raptor rescue efforts

The eagle was found injured and malnourished at the end of May and has spent the past month being treated at PAWS Wildlife Rehabilitation Center in Snohomish.

TACOMA, Wash. — A bald eagle is soaring over the skies of Tacoma again, after it was released back into the wild on Wednesday morning.

The raptor was rescued at the end of May from the same area and rehabilitated for more than a month before being returned.

“We never know exactly what they’re going to do, like whether they’re going to take flight right away,” said Anthony Denice, a wildlife biologist with the PAWS Wildlife Rehabilitation
