Fans said they appreciate their favorite teams hosting pride nights even more in the midst of tense political pressure.
SEATTLE — Leave it to the Seattle Mariners, an organization that touts itself as one of the most progressive teams “162 days of the year,” to be a leader in Major League Baseball’s Pride Night series.
“Tonight’s ceremonial first pitch will actually be done with our very first one-of-a-kind Pride Ball,” creative director Keri Zierler said.

The Pride Ball is Zierler’s brainchild, and its impact will extend far beyond Seattle.
