A judge ruled the center can stay open despite Everett Community College’s attempts to shut it down.
EVERETT, Wash. — It was the last day of school Wednesday at the Early Learning Center (ELC) at Everett Community College, but this summer vacation could be a permanent one.
Teacher Alicia Hurd-Aemmer worried she may never see any of her students again.
“I think I’ll probably cry the whole way home,” Hurd-Aemmer said.
The ELC has operated at Everett Community College for more than three decades. It has helped low-income families and students find affordable child care while pursuing their careers.
