A Port Angeles man facing 57 charges in California was arrested after allegedly driving off dealership lots with vehicles purchased using fraudulent checks.
PORT ANGELES, Wash. — A 59-year-old Port Angeles man has been arrested on charges stemming from an alleged multi-state vehicle fraud scheme that targeted car dealerships in Washington and California.
The man was taken into custody Oct. 6 by detectives with the Olympic Peninsula Narcotics Enforcement Team (OPNET) and Port Angeles Police Department as he tried to leave his home.
The investigation began April 11 when Clallam County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a fraud report at Koenig Subaru in Port Angeles.
